Do you understand me??

 Thank you everyone for the well wishes and according to some references I’ll say something about “why I always send my messages to clubs that are not doing good”  trying to help them out !!

Very good reference,  I’ll start to mention than they would make a deal even with the devil, just to escape from the bottom of the positions and win some games!!

I know it’s hard because the players are used to play the same, over and over again without trying to change (they don’t know nothing better, anyway) . First I would try to make them understand to get on top of the other players to don’t let them toss the ball in the air.  If you just bother wouldn’t be that easy for the  long ball, creating dangerous situations in front of your goal. 

Now it comes the worse part of my job. Trying to explain that the hardest you’ll hit the ball, the quickest it would be back around you again!!. That’s better stop   (control) the ball, don’t even think pass it to your players behind you!! And the next teammate close to the one with the ball should walk closer to receive a pass.  Just 5-10 feet separated and has to be open (not behind other players) OPEN to receive,( control) and keep in motion, moving forward the same time as the player  just assisted you. In the meantime other players have to read the action and start to get closer and open (OPEN) to receive, on the left or the right . This way take the attention to the one with the ball and can manipulate it without the pressure of the other team players!!. Always keeping in motion the ball moving left or right, never straight forward because most of the time is another opponent,   left and right FORWARD, and the player just passed the ball keep running behind, supporting the possessor, and would make easy to try to dribble someone to keep controlling the play knowing someone behind is ready to recuperate the ball back to us!! .  

 Well apply this run and study the formation of the players, it’s like a triangle, or diamond formation.  BUT the main reason is keep the ball protected!! Has to put in their heads, “if you keep the ball with your team for 90 minutes, then the other team can’t , score !!

I’ll explain other points  the next time I’m inspired or a good question from someone interested in trying to come back to be again.  “THE beautiful game “

A free advice to win games!!!

 Seeing the way is going “my futbol “  I don’t have other thing to do is just take a deep breath and keep my mouth shut to don’t look like a crabby old man!!

With one of the best leagues around USA half way into the tournament, the Clubs that can’t win a game, even if they play against a bunch of non-professional players. 

They’re talking about new players (saviors) and  throwing millions of dollars on players that are good throwing the ball in the air and kick the ball even if they don’t have the right peripheral to shoot and convert a goal. But that’s the only hope they understand could happens to them!

If you didn’t read my priors posts you don’t know that I’m preaching for decades then the big problem isn’t the players most of the time.  The problem it’s the system you’re making to be played for your players!!   

Change your system, first thing.  You have to understand is only ONE ball at the game time!!  WHY do you have your players in a perfect line???,  you don’t know the ball can go just to one place?? You need the player there!! Period. And the defenders have to do just that,DEFENSE one on one. The ball should be controlled, the closer teammate has to go nearby him/her ,quickly, open to receiving the ball, and the one just passed the ball has to advance to receive again, and the same play…… time and time again. You don’t raffle the ball in the air!!

To evict the other team to score.  

Most of the goals are from long balls to nowhere. Just put the ball on the box and cross the fingers. Just good luck!! 

When you lose the ball, get a player on top of the one who recuperated the ball for them, without fault, if you fault, you’re giving the ball to them!!!(easy??)  and now you have the ball!! Controlled, look around, wait for a teammate get closer (long passes are No-No!!)  and keep forward, always FORWARD…. Short passes to the boot!!

If I’m boring you, I’ll stop writing and I can explain how to defend a corner kick, (you don’t need 10 players inside the box bothering the goalie) it’s pitiful watching tossing the ball in the air and nobody around to controlled it!!

Just ask me!!!

Just an OPINION!!

      

I repeat again!!

Today anybody that’s is good with the computer can make believe how a player should do plays and moves and how easy is to make a goal!!

With those skills, and some background as a “college player” go and apply for a coach’s license and start an Academy to teach children , and the parents will gladly pay dearly with the hopes of getting  a college scholarship.

The children should be playing themselves at pick up games with not interference from adults.  They would learn lots of skills, moves, tactical instincts would appear and even some would show talent to come up as the leaders of the group!!  And a future not too far can be leading a team!!

But, today is not places where they can get together, and that’s when the parents have to pay to someone to teach them. Unfortunately,  many of them are being tough by individuals who don’t have a clue. What they can teach?? 

But  don’t give me wrong,  without those people trying to teach them to play the game they love. Should be impossible to keep this sport alive!! 

The parents shouldn’t be the ones trying anything other than raising the children’s behaviors, and the sports inclination would be the factor.

The CLUBS and LEAGUE  should be forming the players, The federation should have ONE League, with promotion and relegation, and each club, should have according with age and skills, 6-7 sub-division on a competition ruled by the LEAGUE  but each club will provide the players with  the  developing, again, according with their skills (they will play or sit ??)

 If anyone organizes a league like I mention and want to apply for a world license. F.I.F.A. would balance who’s doing better job for the sport, and may strip the membership to   low-performing leagues!!

I firmly believe that to be a coach you should try out like the players, try out first,  show them that you can coach. And if you’re a decent coach can be hired by a club.

 Or be lucky like the ones that are hired, and ask for expensive players. Yes, with good players anybody can coach!!

Yes, has to show a decent criminal record and/or the clubs checking for background!! Very  Important!!  

A coach is like a father or mother, you don’t need a license to be one!!!

MEMORIES!!!

After a few years without opening a opinion or criticism, just trying not to get excited or frustrated for seeing that every single thing I said its coming reality.  What the hell!! Here we go again!!

Checking my old pictures and refreshing my memories,  I can see clearly when a few friends beginning a summer league!! 

Late 1970s and early 80s it’s the beginning of the “Spanish-American Soccer League “ 

Was the old NASL the only professional league available, and was some people trying to sale a sport very known around the world with a bunch of old-retired players from other countries.

From our summer league we got a select team and put it in a league more semi professional,  competing with more strongest clubs around all the  NJ state . For 2 years we won the tournament, but not future as players or coaches. And I need my paycheck every week, the same of my players!!

But, something good comes out of all this, young Americans players started to play with us, and you can see the goalie is 17 years old, all American !! Couple years later I took him to play in South America, trying to see if someone from the NASL would get interested. Bad luck, that year the LEAGUE folds!!!

Back to work!!

We got a good American talent!! Bob. .... and the NSAL got a good American talent too,  Rick Davis I believe was his name. Very good player!!,

I keep working on my sport, but just part time (need my paycheck) 

And write down all my thoughts how should, how has to be......

Sadly,  most of what I said is being realized, players being hurt really bad, even dead,  today I heard, a commentator of a game.  fall asleep during the game! Really?  It can not get worse!
It's been more then an year since I wrote my last post, and don't feel doing another one,  I'll just try to express my sadness, without hurting nobody....
I think got the moment to get in my RV and hit the road,  nobody wants to become the first person/club to try to better the game! Nobody's have the guts to do the change!
For conversations I had with a young coach in the past, I'll stop by his area, and try to explain, maybe he'll listen and learn something, and WHO knows,  in a few years somebody will make the players PLAY with a little more sense,  and don't hit the ball the harder possible in the air and hope for the best!
And win games because they played well and not because a good luck kick that just went in for purely luck!
And if they are happy, with the advice, and want to keep writing this post, I'll be happy, just enjoying their appreciation to me!
If not,  . Have been nice all this years "posting "  for you people, that want to believe in me and my points of viewing the game,  a little different than most people, because I played a complete different  style, that let us think and see things in a way that nobody would influence our minds,  (self thinking?) I would say!
And today, I tried to do a combination ,  with the modern players, -more obedient, -they listen to the coaches,  (and seriously, what they can teach?) they train harder, but, they not have all the hours playing the game like we used to play! That was the difference!  Play, Play and Play!
The combination should be impressive,  I'll bet you, if they learn how to play in "team",  passing the ball instead the kick it away,
"penetrate "  instead of throwing the ball to the box, and hope for a little luck to convert!
I'll not bore you people no more!

We need a change!!!

Already a month,....little more....since I got a little glad,  reading the new coach saying what the plans are!! .(talking about the last  post)  and nothing happens, the same old thing ,  that I'm talking for years...  not strategy,  always  the same play,  to the side, and boom....  to the box!! IF we get lucky. we'll score!!!

 

To stop myself to be a nagging  old  man, (I'm saying this for a while) I have to stop blogging,   but first  I'll explain then , what make me to  decide to write again, 

Because I have  a little  chance  to do what  I want to do for years and now I'm talking to somebody that knows  me since the MLS  started!!  (by  phone and mail-regular-) its a 1 % chance, but I take it!!!  Welcome!!

 

I'll write down  what I'll do,    not just talk, words they are blown in the wind;

 

One of the first thing I like to change ,  is the numbers in the jersey...   The   #  indicate the position the player its playing!!!  Period .. 

1  to   11,  after that,  the  substitutes!!

From 1   to   11,  each #  will be the position on the field, and  everyone keep  its  place free of trouble!!  that way,  if you are a #9,  you know what you have to do, (talked  before with the player), and remember,  TWO   #s  9,   can't function!!!

 

The back- line of four,   I did  explain already.  this is killing  fields  of the game...

3 players will be  added   to   recuperate the ball,  and start the attacking game!!

 It's typical see what I'm talking for years!!   You can count 6  players defending 2 guys attacking, and get the goal, 

2  players going for the air ball, inside the small box, (should be an easy ball for the goalkeeper) the 2 guys collapsed in between,

1 of the 2  attackers is free,  the ball just drop by his feet,  he  close the eyes,  and boom!!   goal,  

 

To make the players more professionals, and respectful to rivals- public.

Yes,  when they make a goal, its ok if  they are  happy,...    but.   all that  celebrations??

  No my man!!  be PROFESSIONAL,   the ONES  that have the right to celebrate    ARE THE FANS!!   that pay YOUR salary!!!   and dancing???   you got the wrong profession....     go to "dance with the stars"

 Sad day!!   what I'm   saying  for years  just happened, in India just  died a player,   converted the goal,  started to celebrate doing summersaults,  broke his neck, dead

 

 What do we gain,  not tossing  the ball in the air? Playing  the ball smart? 

Not only,  would be back the beautiful game, if not, we'll get less head traumas, less injuries!!  Less complications for the referees,  much easier to  call!!!

 

All  these changes have to be done, to expect to win a game,not just hoping the  good luck lady  help  us!!!  We'll have  a plan, strategy, respect  to others...

 

If some owner/director  wants to change, after  a bad  season, contact us, and we'll  talk...... and if you don't want want all these  changes,  I say  step to the side,   and some of my  associates will take  charge!!

 

And  anybody,  want  any  explanation  of all or some of the  changes,  ASK and I'll be glad to  respond   to  any  questions!!!

Everything in this life,   HAVE  to have a plan, strategy, an  idea of what have to be done!!

 

  Finally I saw a new coach saying,  like everyone else I did  hear before,  I'll do this and that!!

But this time it catch   my attention  when he said;

 

 “My first concern is the energy with which we start the game,” the coach explained. “The passes backwards, where we start the game in our own half of the field, that’s not an energy-positive way to start the game, especially when you come off a long game prep getting ready for that first whistle.

 

  and we need to be more aggressive right at the start

 

 

Tactically, says the team has been set up to play in a 4-4-2 and he will continue in that formation for the rest of the season. As for new acquisitions,  said he was happy with the squad he had and wasn’t necessarily looking to add new players".

 

I'm impressed,  really people start to understand how the game have to be played!!!  Little by little, I'll be happy!!       IF,   I repeat ....  IF  will do it!!! what he says!!

 

Don't get new players, I wonder if he knows  WHY.....  

A player would not change the way the other are playing,............  Its the STRATEGY,  what it makes the difference!! 

 

 Still poor judgment, with the 4-4-2 .....   THAT is what is killing the game!!!, (I already said it in another  post)   Its   a  not brain....    situation,  if you have players doing nothing in the back,  waiting  ...  just in case...   and when the ball is bomb away for the other team, instead of trying to get it back,  not, start to  backpedal, until they backs  hit the goalkeeper!!!! And the other team ATTACK,  not for its own virtues,   -for the ineptitude  of the style plan ...  -

 

 One out 3,   not too bad!!  I'm   a  little  "glad"
